Air Tent Important Information. Please Read. Click Here.
A Kampa® classic, the Croyde 6 is available in several different specifications. This is the inflatable version that we offer in two superb flysheet materials - a heavy duty Weathershield™ 150D polyester flysheet or a breathable Airflow polycotton version.
Both offer a superb camping experience with a high level of specification. At the rear you'll find the large bedrooms, in a 2+2+2 configuration and in front of these is a large living area with a fully sewn-in groundsheet keeping the weather and bugs at bay. The front of the tent offers a truly flexible space. It can be incorporated into the main living area to give an exceptionally large interior space or it can be divided off to create another room. Rolling back the front panel makes a large sun canopy. It is also a great area for kicking off your shoes before entering the main living area.
It takes only minutes to pump the tent up and a similar time to fully deflate, effortlessly, before rolling up and packing into the oversized carry bag. The high pressure AirFrame provides a sturdy structure that will cope with the worst of the weather, especially when combined with the storm tie downs that are included for each corner.
The tent has the fully sewn in groundsheet to keep the weather and bugs out and the warmth in. Inside you’ll find a large inner tent that, if required, can be divided into three bedrooms by using the zipped privacy curtain. This inner tent has loads of storage, both in the interior pockets and also in the organiser built into the front.
The porch comes with a groundsheet that can be clipped in or left out depending on your requirements and, to provide the ultimate ventilation on really hot days, extra ventilation can be found at the front and rear of the tent.
The Croyde 6 Classic AIR is manufactured from extra heavy duty breathable polycotton that we call Weathershield because of the superb protection it gives from the weather. We invite you to compare it with any other tents on the market and 'feel the difference'.
Materials: Weathershield™ Airflow Classic polycotton - A breathable high quality polycotton material that provides all the protection of our polyester materials whilst also offering superior comfort. Our Classic material allows the tent to breathe which reduces condensation and helps regulate the temperature keeping the inside of the tent cooler on warm days. Don't be fooled by the coated polycotton materials used by some manufacturers as the coating prevents the material from breathing and therefore removes the benefits.

The Kampa Croyde 6 Air Pro 2019 Model. We took the video above at the Kampa show which to be honest does not do this tent justice. I loved the size of this tent. It feels so roomy inside. The size of the main living space is 3m x 4.15m. The head height is spacious I am 5' 6". I could stand with plenty of room. The bedroom are tight at 130+130+130 which means you should really invest in the compact double airbeds if your wish to sleep 6 people as these compact airbeds are 120cm each. Normal double airbeds can be 140cm each or more. The bedrooms have the Kampa standard zip dividers which can be removed if you would rather one large bedroom. You can also purchase an additional 2 berth bedroom which can clip to the ceiling in the living area. This is linked above under optional extras. This is great if you have a 6 berth and then the family gets bigger or you bring someone along you dont have to upgrade your tent just buy the additional room.
2 Side entrance doors with full mesh panels allow air flow through this tent. The main door into the inside living space can be opened to create a very large door which is quite lovely when camping in nice sunny weather.
The Croyde 6 also has an outer living space which is approx 2.4m x 4.1m. This area has it's own pre-built on vestibule with a very large door. This area can be opened fully to allow air and light into your tent. This living space has its own separate groundsheet. You can now also purchase a zip on mesh vestibule so you can still have your door open but also keep out the bugs and still benefit from the fresh air. I like this idea although i think it is more suitable for the continental camper but we do get our fair share of wasps. This would be a brilliant extra if you have a baby in the tent and want him/her safe.
The Croyde 6 Air Pro range now has a zip section at the front of the tent which allows you to purchase the optional Zip on Canopy which gives yet another living space of sit out area for your tent. This is a great extra as you could leave chairs and tables out when its raining and still have some cover. This tent now has a darkened bedroom lining to give a little bit more of a sleep in in the mornings. They have put a wardrobe pole into one of the bedrooms for hanging clothes i dont know if i like this feature as people can overload the hanger and cause the tie ups which hold it in place to rip but its a feature added in 2019. They have also re done the side zip door that it now opens to the right rather then roll up i think this is good as i found to clip up the door the other way was a bit high for me and my short legs.
All Kampa tents as well as the Croyde 6 have roll down curtain blinds to close off at night for privacy. The curtains roll into a pouch at the base of the window but Kampa have upgraded this to now have a fastener to hold the curtain in the pouch.
As with all AIR models each tent comes supplied with its own double action air pump. 12 volt or mains pumps are not to be used on these tents. Once this tent is pegged and in position it would only take 5-8 minutes to pump it up. Super easy.
Most importantly this tent is made of Polycotton.
If camping anywhere hot especially on the continent polycotton is the tent type to be looking at. If you camped before in heat you would have noticed that the normal polyester tents get very hot inside you can only ventilate by opening any doors or windows to allow the air to circulate. Most people if they buy a polyester tent tend to stay out of their tent when it's hot. If you buy this tent however been made of polycotton the tent remains much cooler in heat. I own a polycotton tent myself I tend to use it if I am camping in France or if I know the weather is going to be very hot. When my kids were young they would have to go for a nap during the day if I let them sleep in a polyester tent they would have wet hair from sweat or be dehydrated after their sleep so you would need to let kids sleep in a buggy instead outside or in shade. But with a polycotton tent it is cooler inside so sleeping with the doors still open of course it would be much more pleasant for everyone.
Years ago most tents were made with Cotton. But this became extremely expensive to manufacture so Polyester tents came on the market. The Kampa Croyde 6 tent is a mix of the two materials (Cotton & Polyester) called Polycotton. Polycotton has a longer life span. Warmer at night and cooler during the day (Breathable Material).
I would give this tent a rating of 10/10.
