Handi Rack

 Name Handi rack
Type   Multi purpose load carrier for your car. Simply pass each fitting strap through the car , fasten the heavy duty buckle, inflate the bars with the handi pump and you are ready to strap on your load. Portable and compact can be kept in the boot of the car so it is always there if needed. Cost effective as it is interchangeable between vehicles. Convenient and practical takes just minutes to fit. Can carry loads up to 80 kg.

What is a HandiRack?

Designed for rugged outdoor use in Australia, the award winning HandiRack is a unique, multi purpose, portable load carrier.  It provides an amazingly easy means to transport all manner of loads from ladders to kayaks, surf boards to flat-pack furniture. Not only is the HandiRack simple to use, but being inflatable means that when not in use it is very compact and can be easily stored in the boot of the car or on a shelf in the garage. The HandiRack is immensely strong (it has a patented triple-layer skin), totally safe, complies with ISO/PAS 11154 and couldn't be easier to assemble. The straps pass through the car doors and the bars inflate in a matter of seconds using the supplied HandiPump. The HandiRack can carry loads of up to 80kg (subject to individual vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations) and is suitable for 4-door and 2-door cars.

FAQ's

Q: What weight can I transport on a HandiRack?
A: The total weight of your load should not exceed 80kg.  We strongly advise that you consult your vehicle owner's manual as the manufacturer's recommended maximum load for the vehicle's roof may be less than the weight of the load.
Q: Will the HandiRack work on a 2-door car?
A: Yes it will if the car has rear opening quarter light windows or you can place both sets of bars across the front door.
Q: Will the HandiRack affect the operation of the doors or windows?
A: Not at all.  The doors and windows continue to operate normally.
Q: Will the handling of my car be altered with the HandiRack attached?
A: The HandiRack on its own will not alter the handling characteristics of a car.  However, once a load is attached, the handling may be affected, requiring a reduction in speed and longer distances for braking.  The car may also become susceptible to side winds.
Q: Will my load be safe when driving at speed?
A: It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that all loads are securely tied-down.  Items of equipment that may induce 'lifting forces' when travelling at speed such as boards or kayaks should also be secured to the front and rear of the vehicle.
Q: At what speed is it safe to drive at with the HandiRack attached to the car?
A: Up to 70 miles per hour / 112 kilometres per hour (subject to national speed limit restrictions).
Q: Is there a danger of any water ingress in wet conditions?
A: We provide rain contingency guidelines within the instruction leaflet.
Q: Will the HandiRack work on a car fitted with roof rails?
A: Yes, the HandiRack should always be fitted under the rails.
Q: Can I leave the HandiRack on the car?
A: The HandiRack has been designed as a temporary roof carrying system and therefore should always be removed, deflated and stored when not in use.
Q: Do ambient temperatures affect the pressure inside the HandiRack tubes?
A: As the HandiRack is air-filled, in warm conditions it is advisable to allow for the air within the tubes to expand a little.  In colder conditions the opposite is the case.  During the course of a journey, we recommend that the pressure of each tube is rechecked (as well as the security of the load).
Q: Does the internal fitting strap impede the operation of airbags?
A: Only on vehicles fitted with curtain airbags.
