Bounty XL Dome Tent General Instructions.

  1. The Bounty is a large family dome tent and needs to be erected before going camping. Don't blame the tent should you be foolish enough to go away camping without first practising. The Bounty seams have been hot air taped to prevent leaking but not withstanding that seam seal may need to be applied if the taping has become damaged in any way.

  2. The Bounty is pitched fly sheet first. With a large tent a minimum of two people are necessary top erect or dismantle the tent. It is during erection and dismantling that poles are broken. The more people the less stress on the poles.

  3. Ensure that the ground where the tents is to be erected is free form sharp stones etc.

  4. Assemble the fibreglass poles ensuring that each pole is fully pushed in to the adjoining ferrule. Failure to fully push home the poles increases dramatically the chances of breaking the pole.

  5. The Bounty XL has 3 red long poles and 3 blue shorter poles. Thread the long red poles through the diagonal sleeves. The sleeves are colour coded the same as the poles. The shorter blue poles thread the remaining sleeves. Attach the top rain cap by hooking it into the retaining points attached for this purpose.

  6. In turn, starting with the diagonal poles, locate each end of the pole in it's retaining pin. This is called a ring and pin connection. From the opposite end of the same pole push the pole through its retaining sleeve until  an arc is created in the tent. Fit the second end of the pole into its own ring and pin securing the pole in position.

  7. Have the second and if possible third person help support the weight of the tent as it is erected. Continue with the poles until the flysheet is erected. Close all zipped entrances and peg down the fly sheet. Remember to attach the cap!

  8. Bring the inner tents into the tent and hang them from the flysheet. start at the back of each bedroom and work towards the front. Peg the inner tents in position spacing them evenly. The inner tents are also colour coded.

  9. Lay out the inner ground sheet and peg evenly.

  10. Attach all the guy ropes and peg them out.

  11. Well Done.

  12. Taking down is the reverse and is always easier. Try and take the tent down dry but if this is not possible remember to dry it as soon as possible. If the weather is windy you will need help or else you will need to be prepared to buy a new tent!

  13. As the Bounty xl is a large synthetic tent condensation will depend on the number of people using the tent. There will be condensation. The only cure is ventilation not easy if it is raining outside. A door slightly open can help.

  14. Avoid touching the inside of the tent when raining. Leaking can be treated with seam sealant or waterproof spray.

  15. Do use natural windbreaks like walls or hedges. Face the tent away from the prevailing wind.

  16. Do Not cook in the tent.
